Picture Windows in Ottawa
A picture window is one large pane of glass in a frame that doesn’t open. With no sash, no hinges and no moving seal, it’s all view, and it’s the most energy-efficient window you can put in a wall. We make them to the size of your opening, in rectangles or shapes.

Even with standard double glazing, a picture window beats every opening window we’ve tested with its best glass. Air leakage tested at 0.0.
Shapes
Rectangles are most common, but a fixed frame can be built in other shapes: half-rounds and arches over a door or window, trapezoids under a sloped ceiling, circles and octagons as an accent. Tell us the shape, and we’ll measure for it.
Pair It With Something That Opens
A picture window can’t give you fresh air, so it’s often stacked or joined with an opening unit:
- Awning below: a narrow awning under the big pane opens for air, even in light rain.
- Transom above: a shaped or rectangular fixed pane over the main window adds height and light.
- Vents at the ends: see the end vent slider for a one-frame option.
